Santa Mail: How To Write To Santa

The USPS has a fun program called Santa Mail, sending your child a return letter postmarked from the North Pole.

The Postal Service hopes to help interest kids in the art of letter writing, penmanship and understanding postage – some pretty interesting and admirable goals.

How it works, according to the USPS’s website:

  • Your child writes to Santa and addresses an envelope with Santa Clause, North Pole
  • You write a letter back, from Santa of course
  • Put your letters in an envelope addressed to the child, return address: Santa, North Pole (and stamp your envelope)
  • Put the envelope in a large envelope, add postage, and send it to: North Pole Postmark Postmaster, 4141 Postmark Dr, Anchorage AK 99530-9998

Get your letter to Santa by the 15th, and the elves do the rest.  This writer will be writing to Santa with my four year-old next year, taking advantage of the fun USPS service.
