USPS released their proposed 2018 rate increase this month. If approved, these changes will go into effect on January 21, 2018.
One hot topic surrounding the 2018 rate increase is centered on the promotion/incentive programs, which have been a great way for businesses to go beyond their traditional direct mail efforts and venture into interactive marketing initiatives, such as augmented reality and mobile shopping. Due to a lack of an external Board of Governors, these incentives are currently on hold for next year. USPS has said it will have a filing ready should at least one of the Governors positions be filled in time, which gives us hope that these promotions will resume in time for businesses to take advantage of them.
A full listing of the proposed USPS rate increases for 2018 can be found on the USPS website. Midwest Direct will continue to provide updates as they arise.
