We’re Hiring! Database & Direct Mail Data Processing Specialist

CTRAC Direct, a Midwest Direct company, is seeking an innovative team player to fill a position within our Data Processing team. Primary responsibilities include performing data operations such as conversion, address hygiene, and postal presort, as well as variable document composition and file creation. 

Ideal candidates have strong verbal and written communication skills, with at least 5 years of data processing experience. Knowledge of computer programs for direct mail setup including Crystal Reports, FirstLogic, Satori and/or GMC preferred.  We pursue quick learners with the ability to output accurate deliverables in a fast paced production environment.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:


Client Centric

o   Provide responsive customer care.  Respond to clients calls, emails and requests promptly and effectively.  Provide support, consultation and problem resolution.

o   Management of client databases, including relational files, periodic updates, file hygiene, and custom ad hoc extracts and/or analysis

o   Analyze customer work orders and data files.  Create internal project orders detailing the processes that need to be performed to achieve the clients’ desired results.  Process client’s data through required steps, utilizing specialized applications for Database analysis or Direct Marketing campaigns.  Create any required reports or processes, then quality control and ship final product.

o   Cross train other team members on established client projects and/or processes.

Quality Control

o   Perform company-defined quality control procedures on all client projects.

o   Assist with second quality control procedures for other team members.

Knowledge Base

o   Know and understand postal regulations, direct mail information and assist with the certification of the department for any post office requirements.

o   Analyze client requirements in order to determine what can be handled with existing tools, what custom applications need to be developed or modified. 

o   Develop and/or modify custom applications and custom client work flows.  Perform all testing, changes, and documentation that coincide with the custom program and cross train team members on the new procedures.  Any changes henceforward are directed back to the developer.

Time & Workload Management

o   Plan, schedule and prioritize daily client projects, emails, calls and/or meetings and make adjustments as required by the clients’ changing needs. 

o   Participate in weekly production meetings and keep the Manager informed of any changes to the workload throughout the week.

o   Assist co-workers and other departments with needed tasks, respond to questions and work with teammates to handle overflow projects.

o   Perform other duties as assigned.



Essential Requirements:

o   Five+ years related data processing experience 

o   Proven computer literacy with proficiency in MS products and basic programming skills.

o   SQL, First Logic, Satori, GMC and/or Crystal Reports experience preferred

o   Effective time management skills.

o   Strong interpersonal communication and training/instructing skills.

o   Solid reasoning and problem solving and analytical skills.

o   Accuracy, attention to detail and organizational skills a must.
