Just announced: U.S. Postmaster General Patrick Donahoe stated that the U.S. Postal Service “will not be filing for a price increase in January.” That’s the Good News. So no postal increase… for now.
The Not-So-Good News is that the Postmaster General added that the USPS would be waiting until January 2015 to make a decision about future price increases, preferring to wait until after the court decision on the exigent rate case.
For mailing service providers, this means that current postal pricing will remain the same through the holiday season and early 2015.
